Level Control Applications
Utilizing a configuration similar to our NPSII or NPSIII applications, we now offer the ability to accurately, and efficiently monitor and control the level of a lake, pond, wet well, or similar body of water. With measurements in 100ths of an inch, and a Variable Frequency Drive to automatically control Pump Speed, our "LEVEL OF CONTROL" is unmatched in the industry! Here's how it works:In a typical "Pump Down" application, a float switch turns on the pump at full speed when the water level rises. Then when the water level gets low enough for the float to drop, the pump shuts off. Using this method, if a small amount of water is being added, (light rain, etc...) the pump will "cycle" frequently. In National Pump Companies "Pump Down" application, the level is constantly monitored, and compared to an adjustable "setpoint", when the level gets high enough, the pump comes on slowly, if the water level continues to rise, the pump continues to run faster to eliminate the extra intake of water. When the level reaches it's setpoint again, the pump slows down, and shuts off! This prevents the wear and tear associated with starting and stopping a pump at full speed, and it's MUCH more efficient!
